The Shasta River Tailwater Reduction Project aims to improve water quality in the Shasta River by decreasing temperatures and increasing dissolved oxygen through improved agricultural irrigation management. Rabe Consulting is in charge of obtaining the necessary wetland permits for the project and monitoring the success of it. The goals are to reduce the amount of tailwater entering the river, as well as the amount of cold water withdrawn from the river. The project will take place on five different ranches in the Shasta Valley. |

Our client needed to comply with Oregon Department of State Lands and US Army Corps of Engineers laws regarding wetlands in order to commence exploration of the site adjacent to Crump Lake. |

Our scientists are trained in using the Arid West Delineation Manual Supplement and have extensive experience working with seasonal wetlands and know the issues that arise when delineating wetlands in the arid west. Rabe Consulting was contracted by the Oregon National Guard to perform a wetland investigation and delineation on a proposed project to redesign the entrance of the air base at the Klamath Falls Airport. The goal of the project was to improve security at the base and to comply with Federal Aviation Administration regulations after 9/11. |

Rabe Consulting was contracted by Falcon Heights Water and Sewer Districts to perform a wetland investigation and delineation on a proposed sewer line and access road to a proposed sewer treatment plant on an abandoned pasture south of Klamath Falls. The proposed sewer pipe will be placed along Old Midland Way in the ODOT right-of-way, which is influenced by irrigation practices in neighboring properties. |

A challenging project, we delineated a 120-acre commercial lot within Klamath Falls city limits. The site had been grazed all summer and most of the acreage was currenly being flood irrigated. Our staff is well intune with the problems and issues that arise when delineating irrigated and grazed wetlands, and are trained in finding solutions to problematic situations. |

We teamed up with North State Resources to preform a wetland delineation and Functional Assessment on 2,700 acres of the Barnes Ranch, located in the Wood River Valley. The site has been flood irrigated and grazed for many years and is located on reclaimed lake bottom. Wetlands on the parcel will be enhanced as part of a wetland mitigation by the Bureau of Reclamation. |

Knife River contracted Rabe Consulting to conduct a wetland delineation at their cement and asphalt plant in Klamath Falls. This project was unique as it involved the delineation of several industrial ponds and an irrigation drainage ditch in a landscape with major site alterations. |

Ducks Unlimited contracted Rabe Consulting to conduct a wetland delineation for a wetland restoration project north of Goose Lake, in southern Oregon. The goal of the project was to restore Thomas Creek, which was incised and not functioning properly. This project will restore the creek's floodplain to create wetlands and enhance existing ones. |

Rabe Consulting has worked on many roadside projects that require cultural surveys, wetland delineations and permitting, and botanical surveys. The Highway 139 project involved delineating the roadside ditch, which was connected hydrologically to other wetlands. The Henley school complex is planning on running a new sewer pipe along the road to connect to the municipal sewer system. |
